Climbing Wall

As a reward for our children’s continued hard work and perseverance through such difficult times and also for their incredible efforts running the Golden Mile, we arranged for a mobile climbing wall to visit school on Monday 24th and Tuesday 25th May 2021. Over the last 8 weeks, as a school in our Golden Mile we have run an impressive 4000 miles which is an incredible achievement.

As you know, we arranged for this to be a competiton to see which class could run the most miles during the 8 week period. The class who ran the most would then get an extra session on the climbing wall. The overall class winners of our ongoing Golden Mile competition were Year 6, totalling 933 miles during the 8 weeks which is the equivalent of running from Kirkham to Rome! Well done to Year 6 but they were pushed closely until the last week by Year 2 and Year 5 who also did brilliantly.

Each class had climbing lesson led by qualified climbing instructors using harnesses and safety equipment.

I hope you can agree this is a fantastic opportunity for the children and a well deserved reward for their tremendous efforts.
