On Friday 28th January, we held our special assembly to announce the winners of our Festive Reading Challenge. One lucky child from each class was announced as a winner in front of the whole school, and were awarded their £10 book token prize to help continue their love of reading.

Staff members were blown away by the creative, comical reading poses that were entered – the children did an amazing job! It was lovely to see so many children engaging with the competition and grabbing the chance to celebrate reading and enjoy reading in a creative way. We will be holding a new school-wide reading competition soon, which will be launched on World Book Day. More information will follow, and we want to see even more children enjoying their reading in creative, funny ways. 

Well done to our lucky winners, but congratulations and thank you to every child who entered our Festive Reading Challenge. Staff found it so difficult judging the pictures, because there were so many varied entries – whether it be at home, out and about on walks, visiting new places or posing in crazy places like on car roofs!
