At The Willows, we strive to provide opportunities for our children to engage in reading activities and actively read for pleasure. During this festive season, we would like to set you a reading challenge that shows how fun and creative reading can be. You need to find the most creative and original place to have a photo taken of you while reading. This could be a photo of you sat reading under the Christmas tree with presents, reading while wearing Christmas clothes, sat reading on a reindeer or who knows… maybe it will even snow this Christmas and you can read on top of a giant snowman!

Each child in school can enter our Festive Reading Challenge and we are really looking forward to seeing your photos! There will be one lucky winner from each class and these will be announced in a special assembly, with each winner receiving a prize for their reading efforts. Each child can send one photo as an attachment on an email to Mr. Sharrock at [email protected] Parents, please ensure that if you have an Apple device, make sure the ‘live’ option is turned off in your camera settings (Google can help with this). Please also add your child’s name and year group either within the email or as the subject of the email. Competition entries must be submitted by the end of the first week back after Christmas, Friday 7th January.
