First Reconciliation Service

In February 2020, just before COVID hit, our children had just about finished their preparation to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time. As the pandemic worsened, Father Andrew made the sensible decision to postpone the celebration of Reconciliation until things were somewhat safer. Who knew in March 2020 we would be waiting over 18 months?

On 14th September, the children, their families and the Catechists came together for a short refresher on how to go to confession before the Service of First Reconciliation on 21st September at St. Joseph’s Church.

It was a particularly moving service given the length of time the children and their families waited as well as the children receiving this special Sacrament. It is incredibly important for us all to take the time to be with God, tell him what we have done wrong, say sorry for this and then take steps to make sure this doesn’t happen again.

We are incredibly proud of all of our children, and those from St. Joseph who have made their First Reconciliation and made the next step in committing to their own faith.
