Get Caught Reading Challenge Launch

After the success of our Festive Reading Challenge and to continue the momentum of the children’s love of reading after World Book Day, we are holding a new school-wide reading competition this half term. Our latest ‘Get Caught Reading’ competition requires you to send in a picture of your child reading somewhere adventurous or creative linked to the theme of WATER.

You could pose for a photo while reading on the beach, take a book with you to read by a waterfall, river or lake if out and about on an adventure or even read in the rain! There are lots of ideas on the pictures here, where staff are posing in water-themed pictures with their faces covered for our recent World Book Day quiz. To clarify, the children do not have to cover their faces like the staff members did in the example photos.

Our Get Caught Reading competition will be running from now until Monday 28th March. To enter, simply take a photo of your child enjoying their reading near some form of water and email this to [email protected] by Monday 28th March. Please only enter 1 photo per child and make sure you add your child’s name and year group within the email. If using an Apple device, please turn off the ‘Live’ function as this will not save the image in a compatible format.

There will be prize winners from each class for the reading photos deemed most creative and original, which will be announced later that week in a special, celebratory assembly. We look forward to seeing your entries and seeing the children enjoying their reading in creative, fun ways!
