At The Willows, we try to provide lots of opportunities for our children to be active and achieve the recommended 1 hour of physical activity every day – one way we achieve this is by running in our Golden Mile competition.

After 8 long weeks of running during active break times, we are pleased to announce our Golden Mile winners for the spring term competition are Years 2 and 3! A huge well done for these two classes who have been in a league of their own this term, running a total of 807 miles as combined classes each. Both classes will come together next week for an afternoon of Forest School fun as their reward, with lots of activities and treats planned.

As a school, we are really proud that the children and staff ran a combined total of 3211 miles! This is an absolutely incredible achievement and when measured from Kirkham reaches the far side of Nigeria or New York! Well done for all staff and children who helped to make this competition so special and getting healthy and active in the process.
