After the success of the first inter-house competition, we were keen to pick another sport that was fast paced, engaging and accessible for all. Handball is very similar to netball in the movement and passing of the ball, but in order to score a player must throw the ball into the opposition goal past the goalkeeper. Coaches from Premier Sport supported the teachers in refereeing the events, which were received brilliantly by the children. Once again, the children split up into house teams and played against children from their own and adjoining year group in order to provide them with an accessible and enjoyable means of sporting competition.
All the children were fantastic, some children were awarded certificates for their excellent team work and contributions to the game. The St John house team was the overall winners of the day.
Well done to all the children for a fantastic, fun-filled day.
