PTFA
Can you volunteer?
The Willows’ PTFA is always looking for new members and volunteers.
Please consider joining us – we understand everyone has commitments, there is no obligation to attend every meeting.
If you have a fundraising idea or a special skill (e.g., face painting, accountancy, crafting, DJing, event organisation, baking, gardening, photography) that you can offer please let us know. Everyone’s input is always gratefully received, and ideas are always welcome.
Plans for the future…
The PTFA have decided our upcoming fundraising events will be in aid of supporting the school to purchase additional books for the school library. With the recent introduction of the Accelerated Reader program at the school, there is now greater demand for a wide variety of reading material at different levels. The funds will be used to buy engaging fiction and non-fiction titles that appeal to all ages and abilities. By providing children with more choice in the school library, the PTFA aims to encourage a love of reading and support learning through the Accelerated Reader program. More diverse books will benefit the whole school community.
Supporting our school
The PTFA at The Willows plays a vital role in fundraising for extra resources to enrich our children’s education. Over the past year, the PTFA has helped fund several key purchases and events thanks to the hard work of parent volunteers and the generous support of the school community.
Some of the items provided by the PTFA include glow dodgeball lights, costumes for shows, EYFS resources and outdoor area, a spiritual garden, class budgets, book bags and starting school books. The PTFA has also organised whole school events like the Summer Fayre, Welcome Mass, discos, and Leavers BBQ.
These contributions have directly benefited our children, allowing them to enjoy shows, games, reading materials, and improvements to the learning environment. The funds raised by the PTFA are thoughtfully distributed to enhance school activities and learning. Currently the PTFA are raising money to purchase more books to enhance the school and class libraries.
Coming up, the PTFA has more events planned to continue bringing our school community together. Be sure to look out for the Chocolate Bingo, the PTFA Quiz Night and our Summer Fayre. Supporting the PTFA helps make these donations to school possible.
If you would like to volunteer with the PTFA, join us in the staffroom at 6:30pm on the 2nd Wednesday of every month or have a chat with Sarah and Nina (our Co-Chairs). Together, we can keep making a difference for our children!
