Once again, our wonderful PTFA will be hosting our annual Easter Bingo on Friday 5th April. Thank you to all those who donated chocolate today in return for wearing non-uniform.
This year, tickets are being sold online (as well as in the office) to hopefully make it a little easier for parents. Each ticket costs £1.00 and includes one game of bingo. You will be able to buy more games on the night. There will also be a raffle and colouring competition as well as refreshments, sweets and popcorn available.
Due to the impressive success of last year’s bingo, tickets will be limited to 250. Please buy your tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
On Wednesday 14th November we hosted the ever popular Disco Nights. The infants and the juniors had separate discos and it was fantastic to see all the dance moves of our children – talented dancers at The Willows.
Family Movie Night
On Friday 19th October, our school was transformed into a multiplex cinema showing four different films. It was a wonderful evening where families could come together to watch various films. These films were chosen by all the children throughout school. We made our very own refreshment stand in the ‘foyer’ and sold popcorn, drinks, crisps and sweets. Thank you to everyone who supported this event!
Parish & PTFA Welcome Mass
Thank you to all the children and parents who joined us four our Welcome Mass and then afterwards for our Treasure Hunt and celebration in school. It was wonderful to see so many of our new families.
Hello and welcome to the PTFA
The Willows PTFA has been running for many years and is made up of a collection of willing volunteers among the parents and staff of the school who work together to organise events that aim to raise funds to benefit all of the children at school and provide opportunities for families to get together and have fun.
There is no expectation of anyone who wants to get involved, everyone has something to offer: whether it’s coming along to support events; helping when able to; coming along to meetings where we plan forthcoming events and think up fundraising ideas (in between lots of chatting!) as well as offering ideas or particular skills when needed.
Over recent years we have held a variety of events such as a Murder Mystery Night, Race Night, ‘Invaders’ nights where the local band performed, Easter Bingo, Beetle Drive, Discos, Summer Fayre, Treasure Hunts, our very enjoyable Woodland Evenings which are arranged with the help of Fylde Forest Schools and we co-ordinate the presence of a special visitor to the Holy Cross Parish annual Sale of Work at the end of November! Below are some photographs of our events over the past year or so.
The money we raise goes directly into school and has paid for, among other things, water bottles for all pupils, iPads, the new staging used for end of term performances as well as other things, and we have also contributed to the cost of school trips. Whilst fundraising is a significant part of what we do, the opportunities for families to meet together and socialise are just as important to us.
We are a friendly group and are always most happy to welcome everyone and look forward to hopefully seeing you at one of our events or meetings soon, dates are always on the school newsletter.
