At The Willows, we are very proud of the high standards maintained by our pupils and uniform is a very important part of this. We feel that first impressions count and we try to promote in the children a sense of pride in themselves and their achievements and hope that is reflected in how they present themselves. For this reason, we expect all pupils to wear our uniform correctly.
Girls may wear a green summer dress. Sensible sandals may be worn, brown or black for boys and brown, black or white for girls.
Pupils may only have one, natural hair colour. Excessive styles (shaved heads, shave lines, steps etc.) are not allowed. Headbands, scrunchies and bobbles should be either red, black or green. No coloured hair braids are allowed.
For health and safety, children remove their outer clothing for physical activities. A drawstring bag, which can go in their locker, is the easiest way of keeping your child’s things together. Suitable bags are on sale in school.
All children require a green school polo shirt and shorts and a pair of black plimsolls for indoor PE.
Please ensure that your child’s clothing is easily managed and ALL clothing and shoes, including gloves and plimsolls are marked with his/her name (not initials).
All items can be purchased from school.
Please note: All items of jewellery must be removed for PE. This includes watches and any piercings. Should your child have a new piercing that cannot be removed; our teachers will make alternative provision for your child to be involved in their PE lesson in a non-physical manner. Piercings can NOT be worn for any PE session, sporting session or swimming session. Please consider piercing your child’s ears at the beginning of the summer holiday to allow ample time for healing.
