Year 3 and 4 Quidditch Club

This half term, Year 3 and 4 children have been invited to take part in Quidditch Club, after school on a Monday evening. Quidditch is a fast paced, multi-skilled sport which is probably best described as a mixture between dodgeball and handball. The children have been building up their knowledge of the game and the different balls included, such as the quaffle which is used to pass and score with; the bludgers which are used like dodgeballs to take opponents out of the game and the golden snitch which ends the game and scores your team 50 points. The children have done sessions on passing, moving around the Quidditch pitch and shooting, before moving on to games and competitions bringing the many elements of Quidditch together. As you can imagine when sport and Harry Potter related games merge, the children have thoroughly enjoyed playing Quidditch and we look forward to repeating the sessions for other children in school.
