Year 3 – Stone Age Day

Year 3 had a fabulous Stone Age Day packed full of fun and adventure!

The children spent part of the day in our Forest School area completing lots of different Stone Age activities.

They enjoyed grinding natural materials to make prehistoric paint and smashed willow twigs to create their very natural paintbrushes!

They ground flour to cook their very own snack over the fire and enjoyed a nice warm hot chocolate.

They even looked at primitive ways of fire lighting and used fire strikers to make a spark!

To finish their session, children played ‘spear the woolly mammoth’ and took it in turn to use wooden spears to spear the woolly mammoth.
