Year 5 and 6 Archery Club
This half term, Year 5 and 6 children have been taking part in our amazing after-school Archery Club! The children were at first fooled into thinking we would be doing soft-archery, but to their surprise, they were to be taught how to use real bow and arrows with metal tips! After demonstrations and health and safety pointers, the children were taught how to hold their bows, how to load their arrows and how to shoot accurately. After that, they were supervised while having the chance to have lots of practice on large targets. In the coming weeks, the targets will move further and further away and games / competitions will be played in order to develop the children’s skills and accuracy.
We got to meet all the other children starting in our class and started making friends with them. We played outside on our playground and we even got to play with some of the children from Year 1 and Year 2.
Next week, we will get to meet our Year 6 buddy!
