Year 6 – Positions of Responsibility
On Monday 13th September, Mrs Barnett made the highly anticipated announcement of the Year 6 positions of responsibility. Following the inspiring Year 6 speeches on Thursday, every child from Years 3 to 6 held a confidential, independent vote of who they considered to be the most suitable candidate for Head Boy and Head Girl. This was a perfect opportunity for teachers to discuss the importance of democracy and the importance of having a pupil voice in major school decisions.
The assembly started with the Year 6 children all receiving a badge each for their most important role this year – to be Reception Buddies. Every child in Year 6 has been paired up with a child from Reception, and their role will be to welcome the Receptions to school, ensure they have friends to play with, read with them at different times throughout the year and show them how to be a well-mannered and well-behaved member of our Willows family.
Our House Captains for this year are as follows:
St Theresa – Francesca, St John – Jack, St Joseph – Chloe and St Cecilia – Victoria
Our Head Buddy this year is Christopher.
The Chair of the Laudato Si’ Group this year is Chloe.
Our Deputy Head Girls this year are Deborah and Katie.
Our Head Boy this year is James and our Head Girl is Evie.
Well done to our worthy new members of our School Leadership Team. However, every member of Year 6 should be incredibly proud of how well the prepared and presented themselves when reading out their speeches last week. You introduced yourselves brilliantly to the rest of the school as role models and children that will set a high standard for everyone else in school.
