Year 6 – Remembrance Prayer & Liturgy

On Wednesday, 10th November, our wonderful Year 6 children led us in our Remembrance Prayer and Liturgy.

They called us to be grateful for the sacrifice soldiers past and present that have given their lives so that we can live in peace. Evie-Marie read the Sermon on the Mount from the Bible and reminded us that Jesus wants us all to be peacemakers.

As part of their liturgy, Year 6 painted stones and made a huge poppy. We each took one of these stones and wrote on it how we can be a peacemaker. We then placed these stones outside for our whole school community to see.

James played the Last Post on his cornet and we held a minutes silence.

James played the Last Post for us on his cornet. We are incredibly proud of him as we know how nervous he was.

As we left the hall, we sang Make Me a Channel of Your Peace and took a stone as part of our mission.
